This is a TINY town in the northern part of Italy. It's absolutely gorgeous. These steep rock faces plunge into the Mediterranean -- and so did we. The water is great, but very salty. We also hiked around in the vinyards in the steep hills and valleys above the water. A great place for geology!

There are two types of beaches in Riomaggiore: Hard, Sharp Rock and Soft Rocks. These smooth cobbles are the soft type!
